Last week Union Street attended Convergence Summit North 2016 in Harrogate. As ever the team at Swink Events put on a great exhibition, drawing in many of the channel’s most innovative companies and providing some thought provoking content through the Summit’s seminar programme. Whilst at the show we had some very productive conversations both with existing clients, and with telecoms resellers that were interested to upgrade to our aBILLity billing platform.
One of the things we were demonstrating at the show was our soon to be launched telecoms benchmarking service, an analytics service that provides our partners with the means to compare their business performance against that of an industry average derived from a large anonymised sample of our partner base. Through its reports, telecoms benchmarking provides our partners with valuable business insights and, best of all, it’s completely free to all channel reseller partners that have opted into the service.
The response we received to the Benchmarking service was extremely positive, and we will be contacting all our partners in the coming weeks to provide further information on the service and to let them know how they can sign up.
When speaking with first time visitors to our stand it was interesting to note that after introductions and a little scene setting around business requirements, many of the discussions we had quickly turned to revenue assurance and, to be precise, what aBILLity could offer in terms of functionality in this area. This was a little surprising as only a few years ago it seemed as though the subject of revenue assurance would, nine out of ten times, be raised by our team as an area where aBILLity could unquestionably add value to any reseller billing process.
It seems that with margins coming under increasing pressure from all sides, resellers are increasingly recognising the importance of conducting thorough revenue assurance checks to maximise profitability. By using an intuitive billing platform such as aBILLity, a reseller need only spend a little extra time on each month’s bill run to make a serious difference to their bottom line.
All in all, Convergence Summit once again proved to be a very enjoyable and highly productive exhibition. We’re already looking forward to exhibiting at Convergence Summit South and to catching up with many of our clients and industry colleagues.
