This course explains broad strokes of the industry and the aBILLity product. It has been designed to provide a base level of knowledge ready for the following Foundation Courses which cover how to use aBILLity’s basic functions. No prior knowledge of telecoms or aBILLity is required for this entry level course.

    Course title: Foundation Two: Contact Manager

    Course information

    This course has been created for someone who is just beginning to use aBILLity and needs to know how to create and manage customer accounts. We recommend attending Foundation One prior to this course.

    Key objectives

    • To provide a detailed explanation of most commonly used functionality within Contact Manager
    • For participants to be able to add and manage customers within aBILLity at a basic level

      Course title: Foundation Three: Config Manager

      Course information

      Designed for an aBILLity user that has basic knowledge of the system; someone who will possibly assist with billing at a basic level and needs to understand key areas of Config Manager. Ideally they would have completed both previous foundation courses.

      Key objectives

      • To provide a detailed explanation of most commonly used functionality within Config Manager
      • For participants to be able to understand how aBILLity uses Config Manager to bill calls and manage services to create and maintain tariffs

        Course title: aBILLity Best Practice

        Course information

        Designed for experienced Billing Managers who are looking to improve processes and want to know best practices and recommended house-keeping methods. It is recommended that participants should complete the Foundation Stage and at least one Billing process course prior to this course.

        Key objectives

        • To provide advanced user information on how to correctly manage and maintain customers’ accounts and the aBILLity platform.
        • To provide advice on best billing practices and give tips on how to reduce some of the stress from billing.

          Course title: Mobile Billing Process

          Course information

          Designed for customers who will be billing mobile calls and services. This course includes the correct billing processes for both PAYG and Contract Mobile. Ideally participants would have completed all three Foundation courses and completed the Foundation Stage exam prior to this course.

          Key objectives

          • To provide a detailed explanation of a full bill run process, dealing with mobile calls and services including manually importing CDRS, fixing mobile call rejects, fixed reconciliation, invoice despatch, accounts exports and management reports.
          • To provide advice on managing PAYU and contracted mobile data.

            Course title: Inbound & Outbound Billing Process

            Course information

            Designed for an aBILLity user with a good knowledge of the system. Someone who is responsible for billing and wants to know the correct process and system functions involved with billing. Ideally participants would have completed all three Foundation courses and completed the Foundation stage exam prior to this course.

            Key objectives

            • To provide a detailed explanation of a full bill run process including manually importing CDRs, fixing call rejects and fixed reconciliation, invoice despatch, accounts exports and management reports.
            • To provide advice on dealing with inbound and outbound calls and services.

              Course title: Telecoms Regulatory Training

              Course information

              This course is delivered for Union Street by industry consultant Michael Eagle, former Trade Association and General Manager at the Federation of Communication Services (FCS) for 9 years. It provides an overview of the main industry regulation affecting reseller CPs, providing simple guidance and practical advice on how to achieve compliance.

              The course also explains the role and powers of Ofcom, PhonepayPlus and other regulatory and industry bodies in policing and enforcing the regulation. The course is suitable for managers and any staff in key customer facing roles within the business.

              Key objectives

              The course focuses on a description of the “General Conditions of Entitlement” and their legal status as part of the UK Communications Act. The main areas of the business affected by the General Conditions, and which are covered in detail, include:

                Supplementary courses/consultancy

                Our supplementary courses and consultancy have been designed to provide additional information outside of the scope of what's required to become a Union Street Accredited Professional however, completion of both the Foundation and the Process and Practice stages, is strongly advised before attending either of the following courses/consultancy.

                Course title: Spring Clean Consultancy

                Course information

                This is an on-site consultancy service designed to help you keep aBILLity running at peak performance. Union Street’s engineers will conduct a detailed analysis on your system and produce a report identifying areas where revenues are being lost and margins could be increased. This report will also highlight any anomalies that could be affecting reporting, administration, or system performance.

                Following this, one of our billing experts will spend the day with you, either at your site or remotely, working through the findings of the report and providing training on how optimise aBILLity, your billing process, and advise on how to maximise your company’s margins.
